ISA at AEGPL in Milan

After the success at “Hannover Messe”, where ISA had the opportunity to promote predominantly OEM modules, another event of global relevance follows, this time in the Gas&Oil market. This year ISA will be present at the “2008 European LPG Conference and Exhibition”, which will take place between May 28th and 30th in Milan. Amongst more than 100 representatives from 40 different countries, ISA will again be promoting its services in the areas of Gas and Energy Efficiency, and demonstrating the potential of its main solutions by way of scale models. The added value services potentiated by the use of telemetry solutions contribute for the improvement of customers’ satisfaction and loyalty, since they fulfil the expectations of the largest utility distributors worldwide. The upcoming congress constitutes a huge and unique global event that will gather analysts, consultants, European politicians, experts and companies in the LPG business, in an event dedicated to technology and innovation developed in the European market of LPG.

ISA’s M2M solutions in “Hannover Messe”

ISA will be taking part, for the second consecutive year, in “Hannover Messe”, which will take place from 21st to 25th April, in Hannover, Germany. The “Hannover Messe” is acknowledged as one of the most significant events of the year concerning business, technology and innovation. This trade fair will bring together the world’s main connoisseurs of the latest trends in automation and energy-efficiency. ISA will be in loco displaying and promoting its products, this time predominantly focusing on M2M Modules, such as wireless modems, port relay systems, a panoply of temperature, pressure, and humidity sensors, biomedical sensors, cameras, and many more innovations imagined and produced by ISA. These OEM modules provided by ISA will allow our customers and partners to rapidly develop reliable low-priced solutions from simple combinations of our state-of-the-art award-wining modules.

SMAlert has proven a great success for various purposes.

SMAlert is a stand-alone alarm management system fully operated by means of a common cell phone, using plain text messages (SMS). The low-cost system is easy to install and operate and has been wired to a great variety of industrial and domestic equipments. It has demonstrated to improve the clients’ operations efficiency in areas such as:
Environmental - Water and Wastewater pumping stations, remote measuring stations;
Agriculture - Animal breeding facilities monitoring, refrigeration plants monitoring, irrigation systems remote control;
Buildings - Light switches, temperature and humidity measurements and controls, appliances controls, gate lock opener, fire alarms, intrusion and moisture alarms, power failures; Industry - Level monitoring and control, operation monitoring and control;
Fleets - GPS location and velocity, route tracking and just-in-time delivery, cargo conditions monitoring, burglars and movement alarms;
Energy - Remote monitoring and controlling of energy transmission and distribution systems, remote transformer stations, remote RMS measurements, remote power consumption meter readings, battery level monitoring.

ISA Win Another Tender

ISA's latest tender application in France has resulted in the award of a contract for ISA to remotely monitor and support automatic meter reading (AMR) for over 14,000 gas meters and for 4000 LPG vessels. The awarding of this contract further reinforces ISA's growing reputation as one of the largest and most reliable telemetry providers. The principle ISA products for this project will be the reliable ilogger and ISA's local radio device, the ISA RTU. The iLogger is a multi-purpose remote management system providing data logging, automatic meter reading and alarms, with applications in oil, fuel and diesel. ISA's RTUs use license exempt frequencies to transmit readings upto a distance of 300M in mesh networks.

ISA Launch iMeter Smart Meter

ISA was present, once more, at the Metering Europe exhibition, an event where last year ISA was distinguished with the Innovation Award of the European Utility Awards. The trade fair, which took place from October 2nd to October 4th 2007, gathered the largest Metering and Energy companies, and it was the occasion for the worldwide launch of ISA’s most recent solution in energy efficiency - the iMeter. The iMeter solution consists of a set of measuring devices, capable of reading temperature, electricity, gas and water consumptions from individual homes and buildings, concentrating the data in a central unit that provides information on the energy performance of homes and buildings, both in terms of cost and the corresponding carbon emissions. The system is fully modular and it was designed to be reliable, simple to install, and very cost-effective. ISA also actively participated in the conference program, with the communication “Domestic Energy Efficiency Supported by Multi-Utility Metering“, presented by ISA’s CEO, José Basílio Simões and focused on a real case study: the development of a tool that will help individual households evaluate their energy consumption profile in order to achieve significant energy savings. With the iMeter solution, ISA aims to contribute to curbing the energy consumption in the home sector, in order to help Portugal and other developed countries meet the requirements of the Kyoto Protocol.

ISA and Quercus Partner

ISA, always in the stream of new technologies and actively focused in projects related to environmental preservation, associated itself to the project EcoCasa, developed in partnership with Quercus, a Portuguese environmental association.
This pilot aims to correlate electricity consumption in different Portuguese geographical areas with temperature measurements. It consist in the deployment of equipment developed and produced by ISA, namely the iMeter (which enables electricity consumption reading) and the iPoints (which measure temperature, gas, water, oil etc) in 200 homes, distributed in 5 different Portuguese climatic areas during some months, with the goal to identify consumption patterns and develop good practices in the energetic efficiency field. In a few words, this project attempts to Monitor, to Interpret, to Form and to Disseminate. A web enabled software system was also developed to enable the access to several data types such as accumulated values by each reading equipment or historic data trends.
